Introducing - Teachers Supply Closet!
When it comes to training our most precious resource, our children, teachers not onlygive of their knowledge, they also give of their wallets. Across the country educational funding has forced teachers to spend billions of dollars of their personal income to purchase needed classroom materials. In fact, most teachers spend an average of $458 each year for classroom supplies. As a part of a bi-annual community survey, Ridgmar Mall and our parent company, The Macerich Company, found that educational cutbacks are a top concern among its communities.
Teachers Supply Closet There are several program components that will be announced throughout the year, read through details below:
Teachers Supply Closet Gift Card – Starting in August, community members may purchase a special gift card for teachers to use when buying classroom supplies. Gift Cards will be available for purchase at the mall’s Guest Service’s center and may be used anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted. For each gift card sold, Ridgmar Mall will donate $1 (maximum $1,000) to purchase Teachers Supply Closet gift cards for local teachers to be delivered during National Teacher Appreciation Week 2006. This program is sponsored by US Bank.
Educators Discount Card – To show appreciation for our educators, teachers and all school/district employees, may register at Guest Services to receive a complimentary Educators Discount Card to be used for exclusive shopping discounts and promotions throughout the year.
Supply Drive – Ridgmar Mall will host supply drives throughout the year to assist teachers in gathering requested and necessary classroom supplies.
Fundraising Shopping Day – Your school and other public, private, and charter schools, along with community colleges and universities, will sell tickets to this exclusive mall discount shopping day on December 4. All ticket sale proceeds will be kept by the selling organization to further help offset budgetary cutbacks.
